Oldies but goodies

I just noticed that the books I’ve been listening to lately are all older books that I missed the first time through. It seemed an odd coincidence until I realized why. They were all books on discount at Audible.com.  But it’s been one of my best reading streaks ever:  Smiley’s People by John Le Carré, A Taste for Death by PD James, Gorky Park by Martin Cruz Smith, Hotel du Lac byAnita Brookner, and I Am Legend by Richard Matheson.

Anita Brookner was new to me, and I enjoyed Hotel du Lac so much I already have another of her books on my reading pile. All the books have stood the test of time, even the cold war stories.
