Miss You Most of All

Sassy Spinster Farm is a place to find solace. At least, that’s what it’s become since Rue and her sister, Laura, transformed their childhood Texas homestead into a successful tourist destination. It’s where Rue is raising her preteen daughter on her own while trying to keep her outspoken sister in check. It’s not easy, but together, it seems there’s nothing to two can’t handle–until an unexpected and not entirely welcome guest shows up in the middle of one summer night.

“A funny, poignant, and deeply satisfying novel.”
– Nancy Thayer, New York Times bestselling author of Summer House

“A deliciously great book for those who love real books that depict real life, with all the mess, tears, joy, and laughter that live on this planet.”
– Cathy Lamb, author of Henry’s Sisters

“Incredibly funny, genuinely heartbreaking, and strangely comforting.”
– Beth Harbison, New York Times bestselling author of Hope in a Jar

“Utterly warmhearted, it will keep you eagerly turning the pages. Miss You Most of All is a special experience from start to finish.”
– Holly Chamberlin, author of One Week in December

  1. Just finished reading your book Miss You Most of All. Really enjoyed it and look forward to what you will write in the future. I enjoy finding new authors and seeing their worlds. Wish I could write!

    Favorite Movie –
Would have to be in catagories
New – A Few Good Men (Only if 1986 is new. No one special actor but the total cast together)
Steel Magnolias. Crying is good for you.
Memphis Belle is good too if your dad was a pilot in WWII.
Old – Some Like it Hot, Stage Coach

Best Musical – 7 Brides for 7 Brothers neck in neck with Singing in the Rain (Which my husband will acturally watch)

    Oh well,
Congratulations and thank you for your work to enjoy.

    1. Ha! My husband will actually watch Singing in the Rain, too–one of the few musicals he’ll endure.
Thank you for commenting. Glad you liked the book!

  2. I really enjoyed the book. I was laughing so hard that my cat left my side when I came across the butt cast part…. Thanks for making my day

  3. I loved your book….absolutely loved it! I laughed and cried….When I finished it I actually missed the characters. That is when I know the book was a good one. Thanks for the entertainment….hurry and write a few more! Fabulous!

    1. Thank you so much, Jennifer! Glad you enjoyed the characters. Some of the characters will appear in a Christmas story that’s coming out next year.

  4. Thank you! Miss You Most of All was an absolutely wonderful read. In some manner I was able to relate to each character and upon reaching the end I wasn’t able to let go. Thank you for creating the Sassy Spinster Farm!

  5. My book club is reviewing Miss You Most of All. I hope I do the review justice. I loved the book; it is hilarious, sad and a graphic picture of life as it really is. It wouldn’t have worked as well without Laura.

  6. I loved Miss You Most of All more than anything else I’ve read this year, and that’s saying something–I’m a voracious reader, and it’s what I do much of the time. It was an amazingly touching and at the same time funny and sweet book. I’m going to make sure and snag your other writing(s) whenever I can, because I think I’ve discovered a new favorite author. Thanks for this book, Elizabeth!

    1. That’s so sweet of you to say, Bobbi! I’m writing a new book and a novella now. Not sure when they’ll be on shelves yet, but I’m working on it!

  7. Great read. I loved the characters and the setting. In really got a kick out of the pirate legged chicken!!! Have already recommended to my mom and will pass it on to my niece

  8. I just finished Miss you Most of All and of course was crying at the end! I hated to see the story end and can’t wait to read your next book. You are a wonderful author who can really bring her characters to life, I felt like I knew them all, and especially liked Laura. Hope we will see her again! I will recommend you to my sister (a librarian) and all my friends! Thank you for a wonderful first book!

  9. Thank you, Mary! It was so nice of you to look me up. Your comment made my day.

By the way, Laura shows up in a novella I wrote for a Christmas anthology called This Christmas.

    Have a happy new year!
    Elizabeth
